Food is excellent. Beautiful surroundings. Fabulous wait staff especially Jesse. Caring and professional.

Service was a bit slow. The space is tiny, so be prepared to either make reservations, wait a while for a table to free up, or come during off peak dinning hours. Indoors can sit maybe 10-15 people max. Very cramped. You'll be very close and personal with your neighbors. Outdoors has only two tiny tables. Not a place for big groups. More of an intimate date kind of spot. Dimmed lighting. I was struggling to take photos of the beautiful plates. Casual vibe that somehow feels understated in the best kinds of ways. Good place for a solitary meal. Or a drink, contemplating the mysteries of the universe. Taking a star off for lack of AC on the hottest summer day imaginable. I thought I'd have a stroke, and I'm someone who deals with extreme heat very well. Zero fan or AC or air circulation. I was sweating profusely, trying to survive the heat, gulping lukewarm water to no avail. What a struggle. The most brutal peak of Summer is not the time to open the front door into the sauce that is the boiling NYC and skimp on the AC. The food was superb. Everything we tried was fantastic. Would return to try the rest of the menu and repeat some of the dishes we had, mainly the seafood & chorizo paella, the short rib, the octopus, the lamb chops, the soft shell crab, and the scallops. Flavors were bright, bursting in your mouth. I got true joy out of every bite. Every ingredient was given justice with careful preparation. Every ingredient tasted fresh and at its prime. You're paying a pretty penny for the quality of the food. Worth a splurge! Treat yourself!

4.5 stars I'd recommend coming here with a party of 4-6 people to be able to order more of the menu and average down the cost. Food was very delicious in general. Their taro gnocchi is much loved rightfully. Cocktails were thoughtful and excellently executed. Service was very good, consistently attentive without being intrusive. Price was a bit pricey, given the tapas small plate servings, but the ingredient quality was high, so the pricing seems practical enough. Ambiance of the restaurant was very nice - laid back, yet sophisticated - the kind of easy village vibe that makes an elegant dinner with friends feel somehow comfortable and casual.

I loved my experience at Plado Tasting Bar! The menu is a tapas format, so each portion size is not too large. As a vegetarian, I found there were still a decent number of options to choose from. I have been here two times and enjoyed my experience! I will say the tables are slightly close together and the actual seating area is rather small, but food comes out fairly fast and the service is good too. The dishes were brought out "as they got done" though so that wasn't great at times when we only had small dishes left and other times got a lot at once so didn't have as much space on the table. In terms of the actual dishes, I LOVED the Taro Gnocchi which was so creamy and delicious!! I also tried the Esquites (corn dish), Vegetarian "Wings" (cauliflower), and Millefeuille of Aubergine (eggplant, tomato, burrata) which were very good too. I also did try the Paella which was okay, and a tofu curry dish which had good flavor. Overall, I had a good time at Plado and would come back!

I came here on a weekday evening for dinner, we sat outside since the weather was quite nice. We ordered the crispy baby artichoke, burrata flatbread, angus beef carpaccio, and taro gnocchi. I enjoyed the aioli on the artichokes. I thought the burrata flatbread felt a bit lacking in flavor, or I wished the flatbread was a bit more fluffy or crisp, but it ended up being neither of those. The carpaccio felt more like tartare, as the meat was pretty finely diced, and it came with only four zucchini chips, which was definitely not enough to finish the tartare. You could really taste the lemon in the dish. The taro gnocchi was definitely the standout dish, it was creamy with hints of truffle without being overpowering. The toasted breadcrumbs were also a really nice touch and added some more textural elements. The service was a tad bit slow, but otherwise I thought this was a fun spot to catch up with a friend over tapas.

The ambiance of this restaurant is cute. Small and quaint and the service is really good. I ordered the percisco salad which was really tasty and my friend ordered the pappardelle pasta which I tried which was tasty as well. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the price for the portion sizes. What we ordered was pretty small esp the pasta. There really wasn't a lot of pasta with the sauce. We would have liked more. My friend ordered scallops and they were only 3. Again it's really good, but really small portions. Other than that everything tasted delicious.

Randomly came across this place and made a last minute reservation. So glad I came here because this will be my new spot when I'm in the neighborhood. There are so many vegetarian options on the menu! Unfortunately, I didn't get a drink but they looked really good! For starters we got the fried artichokes and vegetarian wings. Artichokes were so good! Highly recommend. The vegetarian wings were fried cauliflowers, and I wasn't too impressed with the flavors. There were just so many options to choose from and the portions were pretty big for a tapas restaurant! For my entree I got the taro gnocchi, which I HIGHLY recommend! It was so delicious and creamy. I love taro and thought it was so unique to make gnocchi from it! We ended with a citrus tart, which was so refreshing.
